Once and Future Goddess

The first time that I experienced circle being cast was in a college class - yes, it was in California. The textbook that we used was this book; the Once and Future Goddess. It's a fabulous introduction to the past; mixing theory, mythology, art history, anthropology, feminism, and archeology. It is a wonderful book for those of us who are artists - it contains the missing beginning years of the human creative and spiritual process - something which is usually relegated to a mere 8 pages in most art history books. No really, take a look next time you're at a bookstore.

It is relatively easy to get through, especially if you're interested in art history or anthropology, and is a good overview of numerous cultures and beliefs. If you want to know where we are now you have to try to understand where we have been.
