Thelemic Four Step Guide: ConclusionNow that you are finished writing, go back and read what you have written. You want to be as honest as possible, so its okay to make revisions if the original statement was an attempt to hide from yourself. You now have a very clear plan of action for progress on your spiritual path, and in your process of recovery. It may take you years to process through all of the issues that you have identified, but now you will be aware of them and able to change them. If you are in recovery, or ready to be courageous, you would want to do a 5th step now. This is when you admit to the Gods, to yourself, and to another (currently living) human being the exact nature of your wrongs. In other words, you take this 4th step and read it to someone. If you are in a 12-step program, that someone will probably be your sponsor. If that makes you cringe, you might want to pick a therapist, a total stranger (one can be found in an AA, NA, or OA meeting), your High Priest/ess, any random catholic priest (they will listen, and the irony is nice), a visiting Frater or Sorer (under and oath of secrecy)or your best friend. It should be someone you can trust absolutely, who has demonstrated their trustworthyness over a long period of time. We do this for the purpose of learning honesty, humility, and the fact that we arent that bad. Humans are fascinating, but we are rarely as bad as we would like to think we are. Congratulations! May the Blessings of the Deity of your choice go with you as you trudge the road to happy destiny, one day at a time. Remember to laugh. Love is the law, love under Will. |
